What I do when I’m not at work

As an immigrant, getting involved in Fort St. John, my new community and home, was one of the most important things I could do. I started by volunteering at a wide range of events, and over time, some of those turned into something bigger.

The projects below reflect my love for giving back, sharing what I know, and finding ways to make a difference. They’re all volunteer-based, unpaid, and powered entirely by curiosity, connection, and joy.

Spark Women’s Leadership Conference

In 2025, I began volunteering with the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference, supporting the event with an approach grounded in analysis and detail. After contributing to the team, I was elected to the Board of Directors at the past Annual General Meeting on November 19. In this role, I focus on identifying areas for improvement across operations — from optimizing digital assets and streamlining processes to using data more effectively to strengthen impact and make better use of the budget.

100 Women Who Care - Fort St. John

After winning the March 2025 event with the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society, I felt the full impact of what this group makes possible with The Power Of 100: 100+ women, $100 each, $10,000+ for a local non-profit. Simple concept, big impact.

Soon after, I joined the Steering Committee to help carry that mission forward.

100 Women Who Care Fort St. John began in 2017 and has raised over $188,000 across 11 events for local non-profits. It’s entirely volunteer-run, with every dollar from ticket sales going straight to the selected organization — no overhead, no salaries, just community impact.

We’re already planning our next event, happening March 10, 2026, at The Lido Theatre, and I’m proud to be part of the team behind it.
